What is a decent floor cleaner?

I have always used a little dish soap in 1 gal water. I don’t care about shine and have linoleum. Just want it clean. Currently I rent the house and it was in pretty bad shape to begin with. I just want to make sure that using dish soap is a good idea. Is there a better floor cleaner? Anything I can mix together myself and use?

  • White vinegar and water will do better, leaves no residue and kills germs and cuts grease. You can use it on ceramic tile (recommended over commercial cleaners) and also linoleum. The smell evaporates as it dries, leaving the air fresh-smelling.
